Asked by a client to come up with different colors for our "four-bead" necklace, we found these lovely spring-coloured crackle beads at a local shop. We've also improved on the design elements a little and added gold filigree beadcaps. This looks good for dress-up or everyday. Normally we make these in a short princess length, about 15-16 inches, but it can be any length at all.

"Love Beads"

Back in the late 60s and early 70s, "love beads" meant seedbeads. Often several long necklaces were worn together. School kids made chokers by stringing seedbeads on elastic cord. Some people added a "loop" for a pendant effect, or simply added a pendant, which might be a peace symbol, the Christian Fish or Celtic Cross, or the Egyptian ankh -- the symbol for life. These necklaces are made from a wild mix of different colours, sizes and styles of glass seedbeads.

We offer a variety of hand-knotted bracelets with striking colors and designs. Some include beads woven into the design. The 'key' design at far left and far right - $6 each. 'Diamond' designs are $5. The simpler 'stripe' or 'chevron' designs are $3. Add $1 if you want beads, and specify bead color & type. Be sure to specify wrist or ankle measurement, and colors. We make these in any size. A long "tail" of thread can be left as a bookmark if desired. We can put a bead or charm on the end of the thread tail - tell us what you have in mind or we can just put on something nice.

Necklace Lengths
Collar - About 12". Should fit around the middle of the neck.
Choker - 14" to 16". Should nestle around the base of the neck.
Princess - 16" to 18" in length. Halfway between choker and matinee length.
Matinee - 20" to 24" in length. Should fall to the top of the breast area.
Opera - 30" to 36" in length. Should fall below the breast area.
Rope - 37" to 45-50" in length. Can be looped around several times or tied in a knot to create different effects.
